Way back in April we featured a piece about Voice Recognition in the next iPhone, and when we recently looked back we were surprised at just how close we were to the truth…
A few months ago, long before the iPhone 4S was announced, we ran a story in issue 94 of iCreate about the prospect of Voice Recognition in iOS 5 on the next iPhone. At the time, we were simply speculating about whether such a system could work, whether it would be included with the next iPhone, and what sort of thing we would like to see making its way into the system. When we remembered this piece last week, we couldn’t remember exactly what we’d written, so we flicked back to find out what we’d said, and were amazed by how closely we’d predicted what turned out to be Siri. Included below is just a small part of the larger article – the part where we detail the features we’d like to see in a Voice Recognition system. Not all of them have made their way to Siri yet, but the point still stands; here are a list of features we’d love to see included in the software over the next few months, while it’s still in beta.
Anyway, take a look at the first page of the article to the right (you can click it to make it a little larger) and then cast your eyes over our biggest desires for the future of Siri. Then sit back and marvel at our incredible foresight.
